How it looks when completed

By organizing the Copic colors according to hue, saturation and value, this custom Copic color chart makes it so much easier to choose colors for blending!

This chart explores the relationships of every Copic color except for the grays, blacks and fluorescents. I left those out to save space and reduce clutter, so that the color chart can fit on one single piece of paper. Also, it’s really obvious how those colors work together, so they didn’t need to be included. 😁

If you’re wondering why this color chart isn’t formatted like a simple rectangular grid, it’s because I had to find a creative way to organize the colors so that they flow into each other, while still fitting onto a single piece of paper.

There are literally millions of ways that these colors can be arranged. This is actually my 4th (and final?!) attempt at constructing a custom Copic color chart! 🤣 While I still spot colors that could potentially be rearranged, I’ve found this layout to work well for me when it comes to choosing which colors to use.

Copic Marker Sets

The colors in this Copic color chart are comprised of the colors available across Copic’s range of alcohol markers (Sketch, Ciao and Original).

However, only the Copic Sketch Markers are available in the full range of colors. If you only have Ciao or Original, you’ll need to supplement the missing colors with Copic Sketch Markers if you want to complete the entire chart.

Hi! I’m Thaneeya McArdle, and I’ve been using alcohol markers for over 10 years. I know firsthand how annoying it can be to find the right colors for blending when using Copic Markers, when similar colors are located in different places on their official color chart. So, through a long process of trial and error, I created this custom Copic color chart to help make our lives easier! 😁
